ABOUT CLAIRE
Claire is the owner of Pawsitive Canine Massage Therapy, based in Horsham, Sussex.
I was introduced to Therapeutic Canine Massage in 2011 when our eldest dog Jess, visited a local therapist 70 miles away, to treat an intermittent limp that she had developed. After three sessions the limp was no longer there, and I was amazed at the results that I could see!
I applied for the course in 2012 and having qualified in 2015, set up Pawsitive Canine Massage Therapy.
I have been involved in dogs for about 20 years, since we first introduced Bearded Collies to our family. Although Bertie is no longer with us, I co-own and breed Beardies, including Buddy and Grace pictured with me.

My Qualification
The Therapeutic Canine Massage Diploma is run by the Canine Massage Therapy Centre Ltd and externally accredited by Ascentis who are approved by Ofqual, the regulator of qualifications in England.
The diploma takes two years to complete and requires over 800 hours of learner hours combining theory and practical skills and the completion of a portfolio.
This intensive course provided me with a solid and thorough foundation in
* Canine Anatomy and Physiology
* Massage Theory
* Gait/Movement Analysis
* the Art of Palpation
* 4 Disciplines of Massage including techniques specifically developed for treating soft tissue problems in dogs
Since qualifying I have expanded my skills to include Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Practical Stretch and Flex and Advanced Deep Tissue Massage

Continued Professional Development
As a member of the Canine Massage Guild, you can be assured that I work to best practice and complete a minimum of 25 hours of professional development every year to ensure my skills are up to date.
